The Village Clerk coordinates appointments to the village’s commissions and committees.
Meetings occur in the Board Room located at the Village Hall, 440 River Crest Ct. unless otherwise specified.
The Village Board meets as a Committee of the Whole on the Third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. All Board members are members of the Committees. Committee Chairs follow:

*The Protective Services Committee meets on the Monday before the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Meeting locations alternate between the Village Hall and the Mukwonago Town Hall
Citizen Advisory Appointments: How to seek an advisory appointment
If you are interested in becoming a member of any board, committee or commission, or if you know someone that might be interested, please call or e-mail the Village Clerk to express interest. The Village Clerk can be reached at 363-6420 ext. 2103.
There currently are no vacant citizen advisory appointments.
The Village of Mukwonago encourages citizens to take an active interest in their community. Commissions and committees advise the Village Board on policy issues before the Board makes final decisions. Other Boards make final decisions that affect the community and fellow citizens. Commissioners and appointed board and committee members are a critical part of local government.

Plan Commission

The Plan Commission is an advisory body that reviews all commercial and residential development plans, rezoning applications, annexation and attachment petitions, and conditional use, unspecified use and home occupation permits, and recommends to the Village Board any action to be taken on the issues. The Commission also reviews and approves any plans that were reviewed by the Historic Preservation Commission. Changes to the Zoning Code and the Master Plan must also be reviewed by the Commission.
The Commission membership consists of the Village President, who is chairperson, two Village Trustees, who are the chairpersons from the Public Works and Health and Recreation Committees, three citizen members and the Supervisor of Inspections. The Village Planner and Attorney are advisory members.

Meeting Dates, Time and Place: The Plan Commission meets every second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm. The Commission meets in the Board Room located at the Village Hall, 440 River Crest Ct.
Board of Building and Zoning Appeals
The Board of Building and Zoning Appeals reviews and makes final decisions on variances to the zoning ordinance. If you need a variance, please contact the Joe Hankovich, Zoning Administrator/Supervisor of Inspections, at (262) 363-6419, to discuss the proposal. Click here for the appropriate application. Section 100-157 of the Municipal Code lists all uses in specified zoning districts.
Meeting Dates, Time and Place: The Board of Building and Zoning Appeals meets the Thursday after the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm only if there are plans to be discussed. The Board meets in the Board Room located at the Village Hall 440 River Crest Ct.

Police Commission
The Commission membership consists of five citizens.
Meeting Dates, Time and Place: The Police Commission meets upon request or if there is an issue that needs to be discussed. Dates and times vary. The Commission meets in the Conference Room at the Village of Mukwonago Police Station located at 627 S. Rochester St.

Joint Fire Commission
The Commission membership consists of a Village trustee, the Town of Mukwonago Chairperson. The rest of the membership consists of Village and Town citizen appointments. On even numbered years, the Town has three appointments and the Village has two. On the odd numbered years, the Village has three appointments and the Town has two.

Meeting Dates, Time and Place: The Library Board meets the fourth Monday of every month at 7:00 pm. The Board meets at the Mukwonago Community Library located at 511 Division St.

Downtown Development Committee

The purpose of the Downtown Development Committee shall be to advise the village board on matters of impletmentation identified in the Downtown Strategic Plan.
The Downtown Development Committee consists of five voting memebers whom shall be Village Residents and four non-voting members with voice. The non-voting members should include (1) Member of the Historic Preservation Committee (HPC) (2) Member of the Village Plan Commission and/or Village Board (3) The Village Administrator or Community Planner. The Chairperson shall be elected from the members and shall serve annually. All appointments are made by the Village President and confirmed by the Village Board.
